Ans. Yes – platforms like bookingdham.org (if offering bookings), Yatra, MakeMyTrip, Trip.com, or MP Tourism site provide options. Many hotels offer free cancellation and deals for pilgrims visiting multiple temples.
Ans. The temple is open for Darshan from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day. The most auspicious time to visit is during the Morning Aarti (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM) or the Evening Aarti (6:00 PM – 7:00 PM). Devotees often visit late in the evening to witness the ritualistic atmosphere, which is distinct from the main Mahakaleshwar temple.
Ans. Kal Bhairav Temple is located approximately 6 km (4 miles) from the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga. It takes about 15–20 minutes to reach by auto-rickshaw or taxi. It is a local tradition to visit Kal Bhairav after visiting Mahakal, as he is the commander of the city who grants permission to leave.
Ans. There is no entry fee for the Kal Bhairav Temple. However, you will need to purchase the offering basket (Prasad). Government-approved liquor counters are located just outside the temple entrance where you can buy "Desi" or foreign liquor, flowers, and coconuts specifically for the ritual. Prices for the basket vary from ₹50 to ₹500 depending on the items included.
Ans. Most pilgrims prefer to stay near the Ujjain Railway Station or Mahakaleshwar Temple area, as accommodation options directly next to Kal Bhairav are limited. Staying in the city center gives you easier access to both the Jyotirlinga and the Kal Bhairav temple via a short commute.
